OK, I know this has nothing to do with MMA, but if you love upsets you’ll never find a better one than this!
In a matter of 60 minutes the Appalachian State Mountaineers moved from just a I-AA football team to the the greatest Cinderella story in the history of college football.
Not only did they slay the giant, the Michigan Wolverines, but they did so firmly and at Michigan’s own stadium. The Big House is one of college football’s most intimidating atmospheres, housing more than 100,000 screaming and insane Michigan fans.
On Saturday, as Appalachian State dropped Goliath to his knees, one could not call it an accident; Michigan was dominated in every respect. The Mountaineers were faster and the hit harder. They capitalized on mistakes and recovered from their own.
The videos that follow are the final 1:47 seconds of what might be the best ending in the history of the game, followed immediately by the reaction of Ohio State Buckeye fans as they watched their nemesis crumble to a very worthy, albeit unexpected, champion.
